OUR INDUSTRY

GOVERNMENT OVERSIGHT AND CUSTOMER PROTECTION REGULATIONS

Cardrooms operate under some of the strictest regulations of any industry in Florida, including internal control standards on cage/count operations, security and surveillance, operations, financial reporting, and responsible gambling. These regulations are enforced by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. We invite and support this level of governmental oversight, which we believe provides the safest and most transparent environment in the gaming industry.

QUALITY JOBS THAT PUT FLORIDIANS TO WORK

Cardrooms are responsible for more than 17,000 Floridian jobs, providing a stable source of high-quality employment in many underserved areas. We are one of the few industries in the state that offer living wage jobs without requiring employees to have prior training or experience. Cardroom job opportunities serve an important role in helping Floridians gain stability through steady employment, becoming productive contributors to  their communities.

MILLIONS IN ECONOMIC ACTIVITY TO BENEFIT FLORIDA COMMUNITIES

The cardroom industry generates more than $230 million in annual economic activity and contributes millions to local communities and the state in tax revenue. In total, Florida cardrooms collectively generate over $16 million in federal, state and local tax revenues every year.

CONTRIBUTING TO VITAL COMMUNITY SERVICES

Cardroom tax revenues help communities fund important local services such as park maintenance, police and fire services, and critical infrastructure projects.
